The AWWA Inclusion Experts Series aims to bring together professionals of diverse backgrounds within the Inclusive Education space. Through the sessions, professionals from mainstream, inclusive, integrated and special educational settings will have opportunities to gain insights, acquire new inclusion-related information and enhance their skillsets so that they can mindfully work towards practising better inclusion across various settings.

Keynote Speaker: Dr Amelia Roberts

Dr Amelia Roberts is a Senior Teaching Fellow at UCL Institute of Education and Deputy Director of UCL Centre for Inclusive Education. She is the Research Engagement and Impact Lead for the Psychology and Human Development Department. Dr Roberts has a passion for research, curriculum design, and capability development of educational practitioners. Dr Roberts has contributed her views on media about Special Educational Needs (SEN) Policy, inclusion and Autism.


Topics of discussion:

Understand the similarities and differences of Universal Design for learning for children at different ages, and how this understanding supports the concept of High Quality Teaching.

Recognise the common challenges that some children face, what might these challenges indicate and how do the educators and practitioners gain a greater understanding of the child’s needs?

Introduction to tools and resources to measure individual children's progress in emotional development and social skills.

Discuss ways in which the educators and practitioners can remove barriers to learning.

How do I register for the event?

All registrations will be completed through Eventbrite, https://awwa-experts-series-slta.eventbrite.sg.

During the registration, you are required to provide your First Name, Last Name and a valid email address. An email confirmation and e-ticket will be sent to your email address.


How do I know that my registration has been completed?

Upon completing the registration, an email confirmation and an e-ticket will be sent to your email address. If you are unable to find it in your inbox and spam/junk mail, please send us an email at expertsseries@awwa.org.sg.


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

If you do not have a smartphone, please print out the e-ticket and bring it along with you for the registration.

If you have a smartphone, you can show us the e-ticket for the registration.


If I am unable to attend the event, can I pass my ticket to another person?

Yes, you can forward the e-ticket received via email to the person who will attend the event on your behalf.


What are my transport/parking options for getting to the event?

By MRT - Yio Chu Kang Station (NS15)

By Bus - Bus Terminal Service No. 13, 70, 72, 76, 162 & 825

By Car - The parking lots in The Grassroots’ Club are limited. The nearest public parking facilities are in Nanyang Polytechnic and near to Yio Chu Kang stadium. Car park charges apply.
